It's boiling inside me, like water rising in a kettle, building, whispering, insisting. There is no stopping it.
I want it all.
The fire and the water.
The stillness and the movement.
The beauty and the mess.
The making and the becoming.
We've all heard the saying: "Jack of all trades, master of none."
But I choose to be a jack-of-all-trades and a master of more!
I refuse to believe that life must be lived within the shadow of one thing.
I love too many things.
I love it all; I can be all.
The art and the artist
The dreamer and the doer
I want to paint and to write.
To design homes and to promote beauty
To study the mind and to nurture the body
To teach, and to forever remain a student.
Why should any part of me be left behind?
Who decided that becoming just one thing was more valuable than becoming a whole person?
We are multi-layered beings.
We are collections of seasons, contradictions, curiosities, and passions.
Some days I am quiet.
Some days I am loud.
I am deeply organized until inspiration asks me to surrender to chaos.
I am disciplined enough to build, yet playful enough to imagine.
Every version belongs to me.
Every emotion has something to teach me.
Every passion is another colour on the canvas of my life.
Inside me lives an artist, a designer, a teacher, a lifelong learner, a collector of beautiful things, a searcher of wisdom, a lover of nature, and someone who wants to leave the world a little more beautiful than she found it.
None of these identities compete.
They enrich one another.
The more I become, the more connected I feel to myself.
Perhaps mastery isn't about narrowing our world until only one talent remains.
Perhaps mastery is learning to weave every gift into one meaningful life.
Maybe our greatest masterpiece isn't a single career, pursuit or passion.
Maybe it's becoming ourselves fully.
So let me be who I want to be
A different version every day.
Living with wonder and glee.
Spending my days at play.
And when the world grows quiet,
Let me move at my own pace.
Creating from within my fire.
Jumping from space to space.
Let me paint.
Let me write.
Let me wander.
Let me learn.
Let me create.
Let me become.
Let me be.
